A little history behind the Company and me: My name is David McCune; I started McCune Technology back in 1975. I made a set of rear window louvers for my lime yellow, 1973 240-Z. Everyone who saw them liked the look, so, I invested $35.00 in an ad in Autoweek magazine and the rest is history. (If interested in seeing how the business venture turns out, go to www.mccune1.com.) Because of the demand for the Z, automobile legends like the Triumph GT6, Volvo 1800, MGB-GT and Saab Sonnet fell by the wayside. The 240-Z became the hot import sports car of the seventies.
David, Jr. is now the Operations Manager of McCune Technology. Prior to his birth, I had a TVR 2500. Sort of hard to fit a car seat in the back of a 2500, so I traded it in on a new 1979 280ZX GL 2+2 and brought him home from the hospital in the special edition painted blue and silver. Another reason for the justifiable purchase of this new Z was to make a new rear window louver for this model. The challenge was, a windshield wiper sweeps up and cleans the back window. The result was a low profile raised louver that cleared the moving wiper arm. McCune Technology was the first company to build a louver for this application. That was almost twenty-eight years ago. Now David, Jr. has developed and expanded our Internet wave to allow fellow “Z” owner’s easier accessibility to our 350Z safety, style and performance parts. The "Internet Stuff” is David, Jr.’s “domain” and he has arranged for the expense of the “Z” Makeover to be covered by the PayPal account.
